Tequila Poker certainly sounds like a fun and exciting game but what exactly is it and how do we play it? Living up to its playfully sounding name, Tequila Poker teasingly combines two of the most popular of card games in existence – Blackjack and poker.

The game Tequila Poker may sound like it was conjured up in an ancient Mexican civilisation but in reality in it a modern game that was not introduced until 2005 when the casino software producer Playtech invented it.

Centred on an appealing mix of tactics, luck and a little bit of guesswork, this game which is exclusive to online casinos, is rapidly growing in popularity and prestige.

High Tequila And Tequila Poker

There are two different types of this online casino game – High Tequila and Tequila Poker.

Tequila Poker is played by one player only, who places an Ante bet. The player is dealt a total of four cards, which come from a standard deck and are all faced upwards. The player can look at their cards and subsequently decide whether to fold and consequently lose their Ante bet.

Alternatively, the player can choose to play Tequila Poker and attempt to generate a poker hand that will win. The other option the player has is to play a game of High Poker. The object of High Poker is to assemble a hand of high value. If the player opts to play either Tequila Poker or High Poker they are required to place another wager, which must be of equal value to the original Ante bet. The player will then be given an additional two cards, which will total in the player having six cards.

It is important to remember that of the six total cards in the hand, the best five cards are only considered when calculating whether or not the player has won the game.
