Jackpot Jones Review
Another month, another Nektan site, and another slightly different version of exactly the same thing because that’s all Nektan does anymore.
Every time we heard word that there’s another Nektan site about to be released, there’s a little dose of optimism in the back of our collective mind that thinks “maybe this one will be different, maybe they’ll do something new, or fresh, just something to make it stand out” and every single time we are disappointed by the result.
You’d think by this point we’d all just have settled ourselves with the fact that this is all Nektan are going to do, but its so depressing to consider that we all try to pretend it isn’t true.
With Jackpot Jones, released in March (2018) Nektan again dashed the hopes of anyone hoping for something different by again releasing a site that is identical in layout to everything that’s come before it.
There’s a difference between branding and laziness, yes, it’s good to know that you’re at a Nektan site, but it’s better if that response isn’t “oh no, another Nektan site” and at this point that’s what it’s becoming.
Is there anything Jackpot Jones has that helps it stand out from its network sisters?
Design and theme
Actually, yes, there is, as far as Nektan sites go, there’s far more attention to detail in the design here that we’re used to.
That isn’t to say the layout isn’t still the same, the game categories are the same from content, to font, to placement, and the thumbnails allowing instant access to popular games are both the same size, and in the same order as at other Nektan sites.
However, Jackpot Jones has made a vague effort to bring its theme to life, with treasure maps and treasure chests within the artwork and a cutlass in the logo.
Now, it’s important to point out that, compared to the majority of online casinos, this is still a pretty pale attempt at a bring a design theme to life, it’s just better than most of Nektan’s previous efforts.
Does this show a sense that maybe this network is finally evolving and putting a little more effort into their online casino sites? Maybe, it’s not a huge step forward, but it’s a step nonetheless and one that it’s worth paying attention to.
There’s no guarantee that this is the first step in a new direction for Nektan, but if we wanted to be optimistic, we could say there’s an outside chance that it might be.
Another way that Jackpot Jones stands out from other Nektan sites is in its games, which is a good sign, because despite them being the same at most sites, Nektan casinos tend to have a strong collection of games.
Jackpot Jones takes this up another level, with titles coming from an impressive selection of software developers that includes 1X2 Network, Aristocrat, Big Time Gaming, Blueprint Gaming, Core Gaming, ELK Studios, Gamevy, IGT, Microgaming, Nektan, NetEnt, NextGen Gaming, NYX, Realistic Games, SG Digital, SG Gaming, Thunderkick, Williams Interactive, and more.
That means that if you’re a fan of slots or table and card games, you’re likely to find something here that appeals to you.
Jackpot Jones genuinely has an impressive list of titles available to its players, and combine that with the (slightly) improved design, and there’s definitely a possibility that Nektan is finally moving in the right direction.
That being said, that’s all Jackpot Jones is, a promising sign of what’s to come, despite it’s quality games portfolio, this site still feels lazy, just slightly less lazy than those that came before.
