Peters Casino
Peters Casino Review
It can’t belong to peter, because there’s no apostrophe, then again, there have been sites that have cut apostrophes out where there should be them for the sake of design. That being said, maybe the casino is owned by the Peters family, Peters is a fairly common surname, or maybe it’s just a word that’s put in front of the word casino. Maybe the only reason it’s called that is to confuse reviewers and leave them discussing grammar so they forget to look at the site in any detail? Well, if that’s the case, we’re all lucky I haven’t fallen into that trap.
Peters Casino was launched in October 2014, and has enjoyed some success. However, this site has seen newer sites rise to much greater heights during its time in this highly competitive industry, why could that be? And, perhaps more importantly, what has Peters Casino done to change, and ensure that it can pull in a decent amount of the huge online casino playing audience?
Design and theme
If you were making a parody of an online casino site, you would probably give it a name that used Vegas in some way (Peters Casino swerves that nicely) and you’d probably give it a black and gold colour scheme (ah…). It might just be me, I am sure there are still people that love it, but I am so very bored of black and gold colour schemes at online casino sites at this point. This paint-by-numbers idea of decadence is as see-through as it is derivative and it puts me off a site on sight. Peters Casino doesn’t only utilise black and gold, to its credit, in fact the main colour scheme here is white, but that doesn’t make it look better, it just looks like the designers drew up the black and gold logo, put it on the site, and then simply forgot to colour the rest in.
There’s a small handful of the most popular games on the site available to access straight from the homepage, and navigation is simple enough, but aesthetically, peters Casino just feels a bit tragic, like it’s trying and failing to be a tribute act to one of a smorgasbord of considerably better sites that exist on the internet (to put it in perspective, even those sites are disappointing and unoriginal). What you get from Peters Casino, is a perfect example of how not to design an online casino site.
Games
It’s tough to forgive this atrocious a look for a casino site, but anything can (just about) be forgiven if you offer a huge selection of top quality games. If you expected there to be good news here, then you have clearly never visited Peters Casino, and it is recommended that you keep it that way. It isn’t that there aren’t quality games on offer here, for a start there are titles from three of the biggest names in software, NetEnt, Microgaming, and NextGen, and you can’t argue with that, the problem is you can’t really get excited by it either.
What Peters Casino offers is essentially the casino starter pack, meaning that all the games that you can find here, you can probably find at your favourite casino, or just any other casino in most cases. In a market in which you have to try hard to be notice, Peters Casino seems to be content to sit in a corner, making no effort to catch anybody’s attention, while at the same time being confused as to why nobody is choosing to look at it. Just a poor attempt at a casino site on almost every level.
