When it comes to finding popularity as an online casino, the secret is often in variety. The more services one appeals to, and the more global markets one attempt to cover, the more likely one is to find success in this intensely competitive industry. This idea does not always go to plan however, and many sites get too caught up in this variety and end up not offering any one service to enough of an extent to please fans of it, so it’s a tough mountain to climb. This is the mission that TLC Bet has taken on for itself, aiming not only to attract both online casino and sports betting players, but also to two regions of the world.
TLC Bet primarily aims at the Asian market, but being licensed and regulated in the United Kingdom, they also aim for a more local audience, as proven by their recent deal to become the official global casino partner for English football club, Southampton FC. There’s no doubt that TLC Bet has a good idea, and a respectable amount of aspiration, but just because a site aspires to do something, doesn’t mean it will accomplish it.
So, does TLC Bet have the tools to succeed in the difficult task it has chosen to take on?
The problem with offering both casino and sports betting options, is that the design for each tends to be pretty different. This is a problem that TLC Bet swerves in a way that has been successful for many similar sites, they provide two different sites within one, one for sports, and the other for casino. The problem is, they have attempted to make the two arms of the site similar in design, therefore taking away the main advantage of separating the two.
That isn’t to say either arm of this site doesn’t look good, there’s a sleek, professional image throughout, but the colours are a little subdued and the design a tad too subtle to fit in with online casinos. That could ultimately work to the advantage of TLC Bet, because having a feel that is completely different is likely to be tempting to players who are looking for a change, but those who have an opinion of how online casinos are supposed to look may be disappointed.
Navigation is simple however, despite the amount that is going on in various parts of iGaming here, everything is easy to find and any games, promotions, or information on the site itself are clearly labelled.
Where TLC Bet lets itself down, especially in terms of its casino options, is within the selection of games that are available at the site. Between the casino and sports betting options, the software available here is provided by a fairly small list of developers, namely Microgaming, MultiSlot, Red Tiger Gaming, and SBTech. This means that, although there are good games here (casino fans will never be sad to see Microgaming on a list of software providers), there aren’t enough of them, and that will result in TLC Bet becoming outranked by sites that offer substantially more options, of which there are many.
Slots, table and card games, and, obviously, sports betting options are widely available here, just not to as much of an extent (especially with casino games) as the majority of TLC Bet’s competitors.
The ultimate conclusion to draw here is that TLC Bet has probably spread itself a little too thin. It’s a good site, and an excellent sports betting site, but the average is dragged down by the comparatively limited casino options, which is something that will need to be rectified
