Since November 2017, Scout Gaming has been in the news regularly due to various deals and partnerships, but the recent explosion that Scout has enjoyed can be traced back to October of that year.
In early October, John Ohman joined the company as Director of Business Excellence, Ohman, who was CEO of software giant NetEnt from 2006 until 2011, brought with him a huge amount of gravitas which immediately benefitted the company.
Within weeks, Scout Gaming had also added Joakim Renman to their staff force in the role of Commercial Director.
Renman also had experience with NetEnt, as well as NYX amongst others, so he is a man with respect around the industry.
Less than a month later, the first new partnership for Scout Gaming was announced, with the company entering an agreement with the Betsson Group to deliver their DFS platform.
CEO of Scout Gaming, Andreas Ternström, said of the deal:
"I’m delighted that Betsson Group, one of Europe´s leading online operators, has chosen Scout Gaming as their supplier. The agreement confirms that Daily Fantasy Sports is rapidly gaining ground and is expected to be the next online gaming growth vertical."
It was less than a month again until the next announcement, when a similar agreement was signed between Scout Gaming and Nordic Leisure.
With Peter Astrom, Nordic Leisure’s CEO, stating that using Scout for their DFS offering was an “easy choice”, Ternström again spoke with confidence, saying:
“I’m pleased that the demand for our offering is increasing. Nordic Leisure is a competent, fast growing company with a significant share of its revenues from regulated markets, and I believe they will be a strong partner in the future”
It was a while until the next big announcement, but then two came within days of each other in March 2018, when it was announced that both ComeOn and British Starpick Ltd had signed deals with Scout to deliver its DFS platform.
Scout Gaming already has a firm grip on the DFS market, with over 50 employees working out of offices in Malta, Norway, Sweden, and Ukraine.
With an increasing number of companies leaning on Scout to make them a Fantasy Sports operator and take advantage of this rapidly growing market, it seems like the opportunities for this company will just continue to grow.
Of course, it’s a competitive industry, and Scout Gaming is far from the only name in it, nor is it the biggest, but it’s one of the most respected, and as the deals with Betsson, ComeOn, and more have proven, sometimes that’s more important.
